Botox Injection for Treatment of Facial Wrinkles,
On many people, frown lines produce an angry or sad look that detracts from a pleasant facial appearance. Frown lines are the result of gathering or knitting the tissue between the eyebrows into a fold. Years of squinting and frowning tend to leave deep wrinkles between the eyebrows and on the bridge of the nose, at the corners of the eyes and across the forehead. These unattractive folds are caused by the repeated action of underlying muscles associated with facial expression. By injecting very tiny amount of Botox into a specific facial muscle, the targeted impulse of that muscle will be blocked and it causes local relaxation of that muscle. Thereby, Botox acts as a muscle relaxant to immobilize the underlying cause of the unwanted lines and it prevents “wrinkly” expressions. Overall, Botox injection is useful to improve:
- Vertical lines between the eyebrows and on the bridge of the nose.
- Squint lines or crow’s feet at the corner of the eyes.
- The forehead horizontal lines.
- Platysma muscle bands often visible on the neck.
- Eyebrow positioning and shaping.
- Wrinkles on the lips and chin area.
There is not any specific age limit for Botox injection. I will meet with you first to examine your face in order to determine if any Botox injection is needed. I only utilize well-known drugs approved by the FDA and the Ministry of Health as there are many fraudulent products in the market that are considered unsafe and should not be used. If your furrows and wrinkles need Botox injection, I am committed to create a very natural and youthful appearance for you. If you want to elevate your eyebrows without surgery, I will use just a correct amount of Botox injection. The standard type and the amount of Botox injection will last an average of 6 months depending on your body reaction to the drug. You may need only one-time Botox injection for correcting your wrinkles, or you may need another injection with a different interval period depending on how your body responds to the injection. There is not any specific contraindication for Botox injection with an exception of some neuromuscular disorders that are very rare in which, if you have these disorders you must inform me on your first visit. If the Botox is a standard type and the injection is done by an expert surgeon, it will be an appropriate and safe procedure to correct most types of facial wrinkles. The Botox injection is done in my clinic and it is a noninvasive and pain-free procedure.
